Expert Water heater flush and maintenance in Lubbock, TX

Water heater flush and maintenance is one of the most practical services a Lubbock homeowner can schedule. The water supply in this area draws from the Ogallala Aquifer and carries high levels of calcium and magnesium. Those minerals settle at the bottom of your tank every time water heats up. Over time, that layer of sediment forces your heater to burn more energy just to reach temperature. You may notice rumbling or popping sounds, lukewarm water, or a drop in hot water capacity. A professional flush removes that buildup before it hardens and causes lasting damage. A full maintenance visit also covers an anode rod inspection, a pressure relief valve check, and a look at the drain valve for wear. At 1213 Plumbing LLC, we bring over 20 years of residential and commercial plumbing experience to every job. We serve homeowners across Lubbock, Wolfforth, Idalou, Shallowater, Abernathy, Plainview, Brownfield, and Petersburg. Call us to schedule your water heater maintenance.

Water heater flush and maintenance FAQ

Common questions about water heater flush and maintenance in Lubbock, TX.

Lubbock's hard water supply causes mineral sediment to build up faster than in softer-water areas, so most tank water heaters here benefit from a flush at least once a year. Some households with heavier usage may need it more often.

We flush the tank to clear sediment, inspect the anode rod for corrosion, and test the pressure relief valve for safe operation. We also check the drain valve for wear that could lead to leaks.

Those sounds are a common sign that sediment has built up at the bottom of your tank, trapping water that boils under the layer. A professional flush in Lubbock can clear that buildup and quiet the noise.

Yes, we serve homeowners in Wolfforth, Idalou, Shallowater, Abernathy, Plainview, Brownfield, and Petersburg in addition to Lubbock. Call us to confirm service availability at your address.

Regular maintenance in Lubbock catches sediment buildup and worn parts before they cause a breakdown or a costly leak. Waiting until the unit fails often means a larger repair or a full replacement.

Rumbling or popping sounds, running out of hot water faster than usual, and discolored or rusty hot water are all signs your tank needs attention. A professional inspection will identify whether a flush, an anode rod replacement, or another repair is needed.

I have the pleasure of having Rudy take care of a bad faucet and a hot water replacement. Rudy was super pleasant, always on time, and made the process so smooth. He is very knowledgeable and I will happily use 1213 Plumbing again if the need arises. I would reccomend them 10 out 10 times.

Rudy is great! We have used his services three times now and I won’t be using anyone else again! He replaced our gas pipes and brought our gas appliances up to code a few months ago. Today, he fished a rubber duck from our toilet. He has always been quick to respond, honest and fairly priced! I definitely recommend him over anyone else!

Rudy helped us with a drain cleaning 2 months ago, so when we had some major issues with our kitchen remodel, we called him. He was able to figure out the problem and worked diligently to find the least invasive solution that would hopefully resolve the issue. When that didn't work he came back the next day to replace a section of the main kitchen drain pipe and get our drain working properly. We will use him again when we start our bathroom remodel. Rudy is a master plumber and a great guy!

Professional, on-time, very knowledgeable, friendly, reasonably priced. Rudy and his son were very easy to talk to and deal with. They solved my plumbing issues and were pleasant to have in the house. They even answered all the questions I had while they were working. I'll recommend 1213 Plumbing to anyone who asks for a plumber recommendation.
