Expert RPZ Installation and Repair in Lubbock, TX

RPZ installation and repair protects your drinking water from backflow contamination. An RPZ assembly uses two check valves and a relief valve to stop contaminated water from reversing into Lubbock's public water supply. The City of Lubbock requires backflow prevention assemblies on irrigation systems and at commercial connections under local ordinance. If a required assembly is missing or fails inspection, the city can discontinue water service to your property. At 1213 Plumbing LLC, we bring over 20 years of commercial and residential plumbing experience to every RPZ job. We position the assembly correctly above grade, handle the full installation process, and submit the required test and maintenance report to the city. We also repair failing assemblies, including worn check valves, stuck relief valves, and corroded fittings. We serve property owners across Lubbock, Wolfforth, Idalou, Shallowater, Abernathy, Plainview, Brownfield, and Petersburg. Call us to schedule your RPZ service.

RPZ Installation and Repair FAQ

Common questions about rpz installation and repair in Lubbock, TX.

Yes, if your Lubbock home has an irrigation system connected to the city water supply, a backflow prevention assembly is required. The City of Lubbock mandates this for both residential and commercial customers.

The City of Lubbock can discontinue water service to your property if a required backflow prevention assembly is not installed. Service will not be restored until the assembly is in place and tested.

The assembly is installed at the point where water enters your property, typically just inside the boundary from the city right-of-way. Correct above-grade placement is required so the relief valve can discharge safely.

A relief valve that drips or spits water is a clear sign the assembly needs service. You may also notice low water pressure at your irrigation zones, visible corrosion on fittings, or water pooling around the device.

I have the pleasure of having Rudy take care of a bad faucet and a hot water replacement. Rudy was super pleasant, always on time, and made the process so smooth. He is very knowledgeable and I will happily use 1213 Plumbing again if the need arises. I would reccomend them 10 out 10 times.

Rudy is great! We have used his services three times now and I won’t be using anyone else again! He replaced our gas pipes and brought our gas appliances up to code a few months ago. Today, he fished a rubber duck from our toilet. He has always been quick to respond, honest and fairly priced! I definitely recommend him over anyone else!

Rudy helped us with a drain cleaning 2 months ago, so when we had some major issues with our kitchen remodel, we called him. He was able to figure out the problem and worked diligently to find the least invasive solution that would hopefully resolve the issue. When that didn't work he came back the next day to replace a section of the main kitchen drain pipe and get our drain working properly. We will use him again when we start our bathroom remodel. Rudy is a master plumber and a great guy!

Professional, on-time, very knowledgeable, friendly, reasonably priced. Rudy and his son were very easy to talk to and deal with. They solved my plumbing issues and were pleasant to have in the house. They even answered all the questions I had while they were working. I'll recommend 1213 Plumbing to anyone who asks for a plumber recommendation.
