What Platinum Plumbing Means in Practice
"Platinum" is a marketing word until someone attaches it to a checklist. Here is ours.
- Diagnosis before demolition. Camera, locator, or pressure test first. No exploratory holes in your floor.
- Licensed work, permitted and inspected. Water heaters, gas lines, repipes, and sewer replacements get pulled permits, not hidden ones.
- Written scope with a stated exclusion list. You should know what is not in the price before work starts.
- Downtime planned around your operating hours. For a restaurant or clinic, closed doors cost more than the invoice.
- Documentation you keep. Test results, inspection reports, camera footage, and photos of buried work before backfill.

Tankless units heat water only as it is drawn, so they avoid standby loss from a tank held hot all day.
For homes that use 41 gallons or less of hot water daily, the U.S. Department of Energy reports demand water heaters can be 24% to 34% more energy efficient than conventional storage tank models . Two things that page will not tell you about West Texas:
- Hard water is the norm here, and scale is the main reason tankless heat exchangers lose output early. Plan on annual descaling, not "set it and forget it."
- Gas line capacity, venting, and clearances usually need work during a conversion. A tankless swap is rarely a like-for-like replacement.
DIY or Call a Licensed Plumber
Reasonable to handle yourself:
- Plunging a toilet or sink
- Swapping a showerhead or faucet aerator
- Cleaning a P-trap
- Resetting a tripped disposal
Call a licensed plumber now:
- Burst pipe, active leak, or flooding
